Orthopaedic Surgery, Sports Medicine, and Spine Surgery
Dr. Gill is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in complex and minimally invasive
spine surgery of the neck and back including athletic injuries of the spine. A graduate of Boston University School of Medicine,
he completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University Of Virginia School Of Medicine. Dr. Gill served fellowships
in Spine Surgery at Emory University Spine Center and in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery at Steadman Hawkins Clinic in
Vail. During his fellowship, he assisted in the care of the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies. He currently is a team
physician for the U.S. Olympic Ski Team and the Greenville Drive baseball team, and he has provided medical coverage for the U.S.
Pro Cycling Championships.
Dr. Gill is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and he is a member of the North American Spine Society,
American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, South Carolina Orthopaedic Association,
and the Greenville County Medical Society. He has published numerous book chapters and scientific articles in sports medicine,
spine, and orthopaedic journals, and is an invited presenter at the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine meetings for
spine injuries in sports. Dr. Gill has also presented at international and national meetings including the International Society
of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery, and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine where he garnered the Albert Trillat award.
An assistant professor of clinical orthopaedic surgery at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, he is actively
involved in research and education to improve the care of spine disorders and injuries by utilizing both non-surgical and surgical
methods.
